About the Role:

We are seeking a Responsible Investing Manager for our Investments team. Reporting to the Director, Responsible Investing the Responsible Investing Manager will play a subject matter expert role in advancing CAAT’s responsible investing (RI) program, with a focus on strengthening portfolio resilience, supporting long-term value creation, and promoting effective stewardship. The successful incumbent will bring investment insight, strong analytical capability, and people leadership to turn RI priorities into practical action.

As the Newest Member of our Team, You’ll:

  • Contribute to RI strategy, develop practical frameworks, and translate priorities into clear workplans, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Lead comprehensive RI research and deliver focused insights to support RI integration and portfolio analytics.

  • Lead the advancement of data analytics across key sustainability themes, including energy transition, climate risk, and labour

  • Partner with investment teams to integrate RI across public and private markets, including due diligence, monitoring, portfolio analysis, investment committee materials, and assessment of material RI risks and opportunities.

  • Work with internal departments, including Investment Finance, Public Affairs and Communications, to support RI execution, reporting and stakeholder communications.

  • Engage external managers and portfolio companies on sustainability practices, climate strategy, labour and human rights issues, governance, reporting, and other material sustainability issues.

  • Oversee RI data management and analytics, including data structure, sourcing, validation, quality assurance, governance, and decision-useful insights.

  • Monitor sustainable finance, regulatory, and market developments, and prepare high-quality briefings, reporting materials, and stewardship updates for senior, investment, and governance audiences.

  • Represent the Plan in external forums, industry collaborations, speaking engagements, and conferences as appropriate.

  • Manage multiple RI workstreams while strengthening RI processes, tools, controls, and documentation, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to junior team members.

To Succeed, You Bring:

  • Minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years of relevant experience in investment management, pension investing, asset management, consulting, advisory, professional services, or sustainable finance.

  • Relevant degree in finance, economics, business, sustainability, engineering, public policy, data analytics, or related field; CFA, CAIA, or similar investment-related designation considered an asset.

  • Strong investment acumen, including understanding of portfolio management, asset classes, manager selection, risk-return analysis, and public and private markets.

  • Ability to connect RI issues to material investment risks and opportunities, with strong knowledge of RI trends, frameworks, stewardship, climate, governance, and sustainability reporting.

  • Strong RI data oversight skills, including the ability to guide data structure, governance, quality assurance, and reporting standards, while overseeing Analyst-level execution.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and execution skills, with the ability to manage complex workstreams, advise senior audiences, coach team members, and operate with sound judgment and integrity.

  • Proficiency in programming and analytics tools such as Python, Power BI, or similar platforms considered an asset.

The target hiring salary for this position is $125,800 - $157, 200. Placement within our salary range will be based on factors such as internal equity, market conditions, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
