Video Systems PMO Manager

Description -

This role is responsible for overseeing a team of software firmware engineers and guiding the development of firmware solutions for hardware devices and embedded systems. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams, sets technical direction, and ensures the successful delivery of high-quality firmware products. The role manages relationships with third-party vendors and suppliers involved in firmware-related technologies. The role allocates resources effectively, manages workloads, and assigns tasks to software firmware engineers based on project needs.

Responsibilities
• Leads the preparation and creation of instructional technical manuscripts for firmware operation.
• Defines and drives the overall firmware development strategy, setting technical goals, priorities, and milestones.
• Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
• Oversees multiple project teams of other firmware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms.
• Establishes alliances with other departments and organizations by recognizing dependencies in order to assess potential partnership and commitment to the program.
• Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
• Works closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and onboarding new employees.
• Serves as an expert on all firmware related topics and acts as overall firmware leadership to provide perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
• Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the firmware design organization.
• Mentors less-experienced software firmware engineers and help guide them to successful deliverables.

Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in firmware development, or a related field.

The pay range for this role is $147,050 to $230,850 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
