SALARY: $21.00 - $30.00/hour

SHIFT: Monday – Friday 7:00am-3:30pm; overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

ROLE SUMMARY:  
 The Rice Mill Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment used in rice milling operations. This position ensures maximum equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports safe and efficient production through preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on rice mill equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair milling machinery, conveyors, bucket elevators, dryers, polishers, graders, separators, packaging equipment, and related systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Replace worn or damaged components including bearings, belts, chains, gears, motors, and sensors.
• Conduct inspections of production equipment to identify potential failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as needed.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, and instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and food safety regulations.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in maintenance management systems.
• Coordinate with production personnel to schedule repairs and minimize operational disruptions.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in maintenance shops and work areas.
• Participate in emergency response and on-call maintenance support as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High School Diploma or GED Certification required.
• Technical school certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred.

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in grain processing, rice milling, food manufacturing, or agricultural operations is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 480V troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with bearings, conveyors, elevators, pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment preferred.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces when authorized.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and work in varying environmental conditions.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Industrial rice milling environment with exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and moving machinery.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, and respiratory protection when necessary.
• Maintain high equipment uptime and reliability.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks on schedule.
• Adhere to all safety and food quality standards.
• Support efficient plant operations through timely and effective repairs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
