We are seeking an experienced and dependable Drexel Forklift Operator to join our Bell Gardens distribution team. This position will primarily operate a Drexel forklift to move, store, retrieve, and replenish inventory throughout the warehouse.
This role requires strong forklift operating skills, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately follow written warehouse documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Drexel forklift throughout the warehouse.
- Move, store, retrieve, and replenish palletized inventory in warehouse racking.
- Load and unload inventory as required.
- Accurately locate products using item numbers, bin locations, picking documents, and other warehouse paperwork.
- Read and follow picking slips, transfer documents, inventory sheets, and written instructions.
- Accurately record quantities, locations, shortages, damages, and other required information.
- Verify product quantities and item numbers before moving or staging inventory.
- Assist with order picking, replenishment, transfers, and inventory organization.
- Inspect forklift and equipment before use and report any safety or maintenance concerns.
- Inspect inventory for damage and report discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company warehouse procedures and safety requirements.
- Perform additional warehouse duties as needed.
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience in a warehouse or distribution environment required.
- Prior experience operating a Drexel, Bendi, or similar articulated/narrow-aisle forklift strongly preferred.
- Comfortable operating forklifts in warehouse aisles and around pallet racking.
- Ability to safely handle palletized inventory at elevated rack locations.
- Ability to read and understand item numbers, bin locations, quantities, and written warehouse instructions.
- Ability to write clearly and accurately complete paper-based warehouse documents.
- Basic math skills, including counting and verifying quantities.
- Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively with warehouse team members.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while operating warehouse equipment.
- Ability to bend, reach, pull, push, and twist throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and handle boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. repeatedly and occasionally up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
