HGV Mechanic

Description
To diagnose, repair and rectify defects on the company's waste management fleet, ensuring vehicles are returned to service safely, efficiently and in full compliance with legal and company standards.
The role focuses on fault diagnosis, major repairs, breakdown response and defect rectification across a fleet of waste collection vehicles, skip loaders, hook loaders (RORO), trade waste vehicles and heavy goods vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- To diagnose, repair and rectify defects on the company's waste management fleet, ensuring vehicles are returned to service safely, efficiently and in full compliance with legal and company standards.
- The role focuses on fault diagnosis, major repairs, breakdown response and defect rectification across a fleet of waste collection vehicles, skip loaders, hook loaders (RORO), and heavy goods vehicles.
- Carry out structural and bodywork repairs where required.
- Repair lifting equipment and ancillary systems fitted to waste collection vehicles.
- Complete repairs safely and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications | Level 3 city & guilds maintenance of heavy goods vehicles (or equivalent) | C+E Licence
