Your Role: Producer – Manchester
We’re looking for an ambitious, creative and highly organised Producer to join our Manchester team, helping deliver brilliant music radio and engaging content across broadcast, digital and social.
This role will be reporting into the Managing Editor.
As a Producer at Global, you will:
Key Responsibilities
Programme Production & Delivery (35%) - Support the smooth delivery of high-quality live and recorded programmes from Manchester, working closely with presenters on timings, audio, features and competitions. You’ll ensure shows are well prepared, polished and consistently deliver for the audience and brand.
Creative Content & Programming Ideas (25%) - Develop original and entertaining ideas for links, features, listener interaction, promotions, campaigns and key cultural moments. You’ll stay close to music, entertainment and social trends, adapting your ideas to suit different brands, audiences and presenters.
Digital & Audience Engagement (15%)- Think beyond the broadcast and identify opportunities to extend great on-air moments across social, digital and Global Player, working with relevant teams to grow engagement and reach new audiences.
Collaboration & Network Support (15%) - Act as a key link between the Manchester Broadcast Centre, Leicester Square and the wider Global team. You’ll build strong relationships across programming, production and digital, share ideas and provide production or holiday cover across the network when required.
Compliance, Quality Control & Administration (10%)- Ensure content meets Global’s editorial, brand and regulatory standards. You’ll maintain accurate production documentation, check output for quality and suitability, and confidently escalate editorial, technical or reputational issues when needed.

What You’ll Need
Strong Music Radio Instincts – A great understanding of what makes compelling commercial music radio and how to create content that complements the music and feels right for the brand.
Production Experience – Experience producing live or recorded radio, audio or other fast-paced content, with confidence managing timings, audio and presenter requirements.
Creative Programming Skills – The ability to generate original ideas and turn them into engaging, deliverable content for different audiences and formats.
Audience-First Mindset – A strong understanding of what engages audiences and how to create accessible, relevant and distinctive content.
First-Class Communication – The confidence to brief presenters and work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across different teams and locations.
Digital Awareness – An understanding of how great broadcast moments can translate across social, digital and Global Player.
Compliance Knowledge – An understanding of editorial accuracy, brand standards, Ofcom requirements and editorial guidelines within a live environment.
Organisation & Attention to Detail – Highly organised, calm under pressure and able to deliver accurate, well-prepared work to deadline.
