Senior Contract AnalystWe are currently based at KL Eco City, Malaysia.
Role Purpose
Senior Contracts Analyst are typically assigned to Contracts & Commercial Department administration duties, pre-qualification activities, and/or assist with low risk and/or small-size contracts and RFQs/RFPs under the instruction of and/or managed by a Contracts Manager. Senior Contracts Analyst personnel perform a key role in the Project Contracts Team or Corporate Contracts Team. They utilise their analytical skillsets to assist on contractual, commercial and technical matters handled by the project contracts team and/or corporate team for the benefit of the wider organisation. May be assigned to assist with other commercial / contracts activities within the MODEC Group.
Key Accountabilities
Contract Management & Administration - Assist and support line management with organising and maintaining logs and files (both in terms of a central database and hard copy filing systems) in a systematic manner to allow for easy access. The position is dependent on close supervision from line management.
Pre-Contract Execution & Post Contract Execution - Assist the pre client contract award i.e., during pre-FEED / FEED as well as during the proposal phase for seeking proposals from subcontractors. Post client contract award, assist in the preparation of pre-qualification activities, and RFQs/RFPs for subcontracts on project and/or department needs. To assist with the prequalification of new subcontractors as well as reverting of existing or expired subcontractors within the MODEC approved list of subcontractors.
Contracting Skills - Exposure to drafting of low risk and/or small size contracts. Drafting of internal approval sheet for low risk contracts and obtaining the various levels of approval for all contracts.
Contract Administration - Exposure to subcontract management, drafting and/or review and approval of subcontract notices, amendments, change requests and change orders and formalization of subcontract closeout.

Financial Exposure - Handles contracts under close supervision from line management that are less than USD 2 Million in value, and assists contracts as instructed by the line management.
Data Analysis - Ability to handle large amount of data set and interpret the correlations amongst them and discern patterns and relations.
Stakeholder Management - Nominal interaction with external stakeholders. Exposure to low risk and/or small-size contracts. Frequent interaction with peers. Participation in team.
Reporting Structure - Typically assigned to assist the Contracts Team either on a Project or Corporate, under the leadership of a FPSO Project Contracts Manager or a Corporate Contracts & Commercial Manager. May be assigned to assist with other commercial / contracts activities within the MODEC Group. This means that the Position holder will plan and execute tasks on an assigned activity basis by the Lead/Senior/Contracts Specialist , or as directed by FPSO Project Contracts Manager or a Corporate Contracts & Commercial Manager. (a) Administratively and functionally reports directly to the Contracts & Commercial Head of Department. (b) Operationally reports to a line Contracts & Commercial Department manager, as assigned by the Contracts & Commercial Head of Department.
Qualifications
Tertiary Graduate (or studying part-time to complete a tertiary qualification) / Law, QS (Quantity Surveying), Engineering, Business / Master’s Degree in a relevant subject such as Construction Law, Business Administration or Economics will be of value. Law and contract law as part of academic studies is preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years (Degree / Diploma) relevant experience (demonstrable under contracts and/or commercial is preferred).
