Quantum Sky is searching for an experienced Sales Engineer to support complex sales opportunities with U.S. Federal agencies and commercial software providers seeking authorization to sell their products and services to the Federal Government. The ideal candidate combines strong technical sales, cloud architecture, cybersecurity, and Federal compliance expertise. This role partners with sales and customers throughout the sales lifecycle—from technical discovery and solution design through demonstrations, estimation, proposals, and technical validation. Candidates should be comfortable translating business, technical, and compliance requirements into cloud-native solutions using AWS, Azure, GCP, containers, Kubernetes, serverless technologies, and DevSecOps.
Responsibilities
- Partner with sales teams to develop technical strategies for direct Federal agency opportunities and commercial software providers pursuing Federal market authorization.
- Lead technical discovery to understand customer requirements, application architectures, cloud environments, security posture, and compliance objectives.
- Serve as a technical advisor to commercial SaaS and software companies pursuing FedRAMP, FISMA, DoD, and other Federal security authorizations.
- Translate Federal cybersecurity and compliance requirements into practical cloud architectures and implementation approaches.
- Design solutions incorporating public cloud, containers, Kubernetes, serverless computing, cybersecurity, automation, and DevSecOps.
- Develop and deliver architecture diagrams, technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and proofs of concept.
- Support technical responses to Federal RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and other procurement activities.
- Develop reusable reference architectures, demonstrations, and technical sales enablement materials.
Qualifications
Required:
- 8+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions architecture, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, consulting, or a related technical customer-facing role.
- Experience supporting large, complex technology sales opportunities involving Federal agencies and/or commercial software providers entering the Federal market.
- Experience working with SaaS or software companies pursuing FedRAMP or other Federal security authorizations.
- Strong knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, RMF, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, and DISA requirements.
- Ability to lead technical discovery and translate customer requirements into compelling solution architectures.
- Experience communicating complex technical and compliance concepts to engineering, cybersecurity, product, program, and executive audiences.
- Strong written, presentation, and customer-facing communication skills.
- Strong understanding of containers, Docker, Kubernetes, managed container platforms (AKS, EKS, ECS, GKE), and serverless architectures
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform), CI/CD, DevSecOps
Desired:
- Experience supporting Civilian, DoD, or Intelligence Community customers.
- Professional certifications in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, cybersecurity

Compensation:
- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $190,000 - $210,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
