Description

The Data Coordinating Center (DCC) is a multidisciplinary team that supports complex, multi-site clinical research and collaborative learning networks across Seattle Children’s Research Institute and external partners. Our team specializes in the design, coordination, and operational management of multicenter clinical studies, providing expertise in project management, data coordination, regulatory oversight, and research infrastructure. In addition to traditional clinical research, the DCC plays a key role in advancing Learning Health Systems and quality improvement (QI) initiatives, helping clinical networks use real-world data to continuously improve patient care and outcomes. We work closely with investigators, clinicians, and national collaborators to translate data into actionable insights that accelerate discovery and improve the health of children.

The Project Manager II leads the end-to-end delivery of large, multifaceted projects and serves as the primary point of contact to ensure alignment with institutional goals. This role is responsible for the development, execution, issue resolution, communication, and deliverables of assigned projects.

The Project Manager II manages project scope, schedules, resources, and fiscal monitoring and variance analysis; makes informed trade-off decisions; and partners with leaders to shape and refine project scope as needed and drive results. In addition to delivering projects, this role acts as a liaison across departments, supports implementation of continuous improvement practices within assigned projects, and coaches staff in effective project coordination and management practices.

The Project Manager II leverages independent judgment and operates with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results.

SERIES CONCEPT: A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result. A project is temporary in that it has a defined beginning and end in time, and therefore defined scope and resources. And a project is unique in that it is not a routine operation, but a specific set of operations designed to accomplish a singular goal. So, a project team often includes people who don't usually work together – sometimes from different functional areas and across multiple geographies.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience gained through project coordination, operations, or administrative roles that demonstrate readiness for project management work. Minimum of five (5) years related experience to include at least three (3) years managing projects. Proven experience leading multifaceted projects from initiation through close, managing scope, schedules, resources, risks, budgets, and operational impact. Demonstrated success arranging project activities within highly-regulated, multi-stakeholder environments, including building connections with consultants or purchased services. Experience leading project teams and coaching or mentoring project coordinators and junior project managers.

Required Credentials

Preferred
Experience working in a healthcare, clinical, behavioral health, or regulated environment. Experience building and managing vendor relations. Master's degree in health administration, business, or related field or Master's Certificate in Project Management Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
