Medical Management Team Manager

Job Description:

We're looking for an experienced and people-focused Medical Management Team Manager to lead our Medical Management team. In this pivotal leadership role, you'll coach, develop and inspire a team of Medical Management Specialists while driving high-quality outcomes for injured workers, clients and the business.
 

You'll be responsible for overseeing the team's performance, ensuring consistent and compliant decision-making, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. Working closely with internal stakeholders, Medical Advisors and leadership teams, you'll champion continuous improvement and support exceptional customer outcomes.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Medical Management Specialists to achieve performance and quality outcomes

• Oversee the assessment and approval of medical and like services and surgical requests, ensuring compliance with WorkSafe legislation and industry guidelines

• Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback and identify development opportunities

• Act as the key escalation point for complex medical management matters

• Partner with Medical Advisors, Treating Health Practitioners and Claims Leaders to support appropriate treatment and recovery pathways

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process efficiencies and a positive team culture

• Ensure service standards, quality, compliance and customer expectations are consistently achieved
   

About You

• Demonstrated leadership experience within Workers' Compensation, Personal Injury or Insurance

• Strong understanding of medical management, return-to-work and WorkSafe legislation

• Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop high-performing teams

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• A collaborative leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement and customer outcomes

• Allied health qualifications are highly regarded but not essential
