Purpose of the role
To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.
Accountabilities
- Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
- Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
- Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes.
- Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
- Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
- Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
- Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Join us as a "Assistant Manager - Customer Service Advisor" at Barclays, In this role, you will be responsible for front-ending the procure-to-Pay (P2P) process for our internal & external stakeholders. You will act as a subject matter expert; required to champion, and drive Procure to Pay (P2P) compliance and best practices across the Bank. You will work closely with internal stakeholders & external suppliers to provide guidance on procurement processes, deliver procurement process training. This role requires strong communication skills, hands-on experience with procurement systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with end-to-end Procure-to-Pay lifecycle, as well as job-specific skillsets.
To be successful as a "Assistant Manager - Customer Service Advisor", you should have experience with:
Basic/ Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Accounts Payable (AP), Procurement Operations, and Source-to-Pay (S2P)/Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, including invoice processing, supplier payments, and query resolution.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay lifecycle, including financial controls, operational governance, risk management, and compliance requirements within a regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders, deliver service excellence, and achieve operational targets against agreed SLAs, KPIs, and control standards.
- Graduate in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise reports and presentations for senior leadership.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workload, exercise sound judgment, manage escalations, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills with a focus on accuracy, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
Desirable skillsets/ good to have:
- Hands-on experience with Coupa, SAP, Icertis, or other Procurement and AP platforms.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, automation, reporting, and data analytics (e.g., Power BI, Excel, VBA, AI-driven solutions).
- Experience in change initiatives, supplier onboarding, continuous improvement Projects, and cross-functional collaborations within global operations.
- Experience working in a global organisation.
- Strong presentation and decision-making skills.

- Awareness of Barclays Risk Framework, Group Policies, Compliance standards, and control requirements.
