Job Summary
Within Enzyme R&D, we develop innovative enzyme solutions that support customers across food and industrial applications. Our multidisciplinary teams combine scientific excellence, process development, and operational expertise to bring new technologies from concept to application.
As a Scientist in our Fermentation Operations team, you will gain hands-on experience across fermentation, downstream processing, and food-grade production in an industrial R&D environment. You will work closely with experienced scientists and cross-functional teams while developing expertise in bioprocessing, operational excellence, and process improvement. This position offers a unique opportunity to build deep technical knowledge, take increasing ownership of critical operations, and contribute to innovative enzyme solutions that support customers around the world. Where You'll Make a Difference
- Perform fermentation and downstream processing activities across various scales
- Produce food-grade samples to support internal projects and stakeholder needs
- Plan, coordinate, and execute production activities within the fermentation platform
- Support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of fermentation processes and equipment
- Manage laboratory equipment, facilities, consumables, and inventory
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with quality and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate closely with international R&D project teams, Quality, and Regulatory functions
- Contribute to troubleshooting, process optimization, and operational problem-solving
- Gradually take ownership of key fermentation operations and platform-related activities
What Makes You the Right Fit
- MSc degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Bioprocess Engineering, Food Science, or a related scientific field
- Strong interest in fermentation, bioprocessing, and industrial R&D
- Curious mindset with a passion for learning and developing technical expertise
- Enjoy both laboratory work and practical hands-on problem solving
- Structured, proactive, and organized approach to work
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and responsibility
- Excellent communication and documentation skills in English
- Ability to collaborate effectively in an international and cross-functional environment
Please note that this position occasionally requires flexibility in working hours to support fermentation runs and other time-sensitive operational activities outside of standard business hours.

- Previous experience with fermentation, microbiology, bioprocessing, or downstream processing through studies, internships, or industry work
