Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the implementation and maintenance of our health and safety program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures
• Conduct safety training for employees and contractors
• Investigate accidents and incidents, and make recommendations for corrective actions
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to health and safety
• Monitor and review the effectiveness of the health and safety program
• Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation and industry best practices
• Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to identify and address safety concerns
• Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management strategies
• Participate in safety committee meetings and provide recommendations for improvement
• Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the construction industry
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different project sites
