What you’ll do:

We are looking for a leader who will drive sustainable improvement to the productivity of our in-store space, by delivering high return, easy to execute planograms to increase the sales and profitability of our in-store space, and raising the bar on our in-store merchandising solutions. The primary focus of this role to is to enable improved store execution and activation resulting in sales and margin increases while improving the overall in-store customer experience. You will lead a team of Space Planning Specialists to deliver timely, accurate and visually appealing planograms and out of department visual presentation programs. As a people leader, you are committed to developing your team members through communicating clear objectives and providing ongoing coaching and development opportunities.

Key deliverables include:

  • Lead the ongoing and effective utilization of space in-store, in support of merchandising strategic priorities, store, market and customer insights.
  • Create retail floor plans that accurately translate Line of Business priorities with factual space allocation and planogram placement.
  • Drive sales and margin planogram productivity across the organization to ensure linear resources are appropriately allocated and optimized.
  • Manage a team of Space Planning Specialists to deliver timely, accurate and visually appealing planograms and out of department visual presentation programs supporting new Concept stores and Private Label Brands.
  • Leverage various internal groups and committees such as Physical Store to obtain feedback on programs including conducting post mortems with the Category teams.
  • Ensure Retail City CTR lab store is well merchandised and kept up to date with our latest assortments.
  • Sign-off on all planograms to ensure all financial and operational metrics, as well as visual merchandising standards are met.

What You’ve Done:

To be successful in this role you must have a proven leadership track record of team development, communication skills, ability to multi-task and exceed in a highly results-focused environment. You will bring in-depth knowledge and experience in developing innovative Retail Merchandising and Visual Presentation programs. You have strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable plans. Our best Space Planning Mangers have superior organization, communication and interpersonal skills. The business is also looking for someone who has:

  • Post-secondary university education in Retail Management or similar
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive retail merchandising experience
  • Knowledge of Canadian Tire Merchandising philosophies, best practices and store environments are an asset
  • Working knowledge of retail space management practices and technology, with experience working with the JDA/Blue Yonder Space Planning or Spaceman

Broadband Salary Range: $64,000 – $106,000 CAD
Our typical hiring range is between $65,000 and $75,000. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role
