Description
About us
At Dyson, we believe everything could be better. Fuelled by frustration with things that don’t work properly and a relentless obsession with making them work better, we’ve spent the last 27 years pioneering inventions and continually improving. We’re growing fast. And our ambition is huge. But it’s not simply about more people and more profit. Dyson is all about pioneering ideas and new technologies. It’s about inventing the future. Our philosophy remains the same as it was 27 years ago when James Dyson invented the first cyclonic vacuum cleaner. We remain family-owned. We don’t bow to outside shareholders or report to the stock exchange. Instead, we plot our path, unshackled from conventional thinking. At Dyson, we constantly strive to find more pioneering ways to solve everyday problems.
About the role
In this role based in Singapore, you will report to the Global Head of Finance and support the RDD and Supply Chain organizations with financial analysis and insight that supports the delivery of product design changes; we play a key part in Dyson overall success.
The focus is to drive savings initiatives from Change requests all the way through operationalization into Product Cost and BOM, bring out the story behind the numbers and providing insights that inform decision-making around costs and supply to ensure we optimize the use of our financial resources and continue to improve profitability.
Core accountabilities:
• Lead Design Change Execution Across Functions - Partner with RDD, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Finance teams to coordinate end-to-end implementation of product design changes, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business objectives
• Maintain Product Master Data and BOM Integrity - Own governance and execution of Design Change Bill of Materials (BOM), part numbers, cost structures, and related master data updates, ensuring all approved changes are accurately reflected
• Assess Commercial and Financial Impact of Design Changes - Evaluate proposed design changes around cost, quality, supply continuity, operational complexity, and customer impact to determine overall value creation.
• Optimise Inventory and Transition Management - Analyse existing CM inventory, component exposure, and obsolescence risk to recommend optimal change implementation timing and disposition strategies that minimise write-offs and disruption.
About you
• A bias for action, with high levels of resilience and drive, able to see the strategic big picture but also to roll sleeves up and get into the detail and delivery of financial projects.
• Energetic, engaging and pacey, with high EQ and the ability to motivate and inspire in a matrixed environment.
• Clear communicator; decisive and excellent influencer.
• Able to challenge all areas of activity, especially elements that ‘have always been done’ and recommend new approaches to meet financial objectives.
• Strong team player and sound management skills - visible and inspiring leadership style at both a local and international/regional level. Helping to manage, develop, up-skill and promote a best-in-class function.
• Ability to understand concepts and ideas quickly and model data in meaningful ways
• Naturally Inquisitive - comfortable and willing to interrogate existing systems with large amounts of data for answers but accepts that not every query has an exact answer
• Proactive in proposing ideas to challenge status quo
• Experience in working across functions and cultures and dealing with overseas entities
