Description
As Director of Court Services, you will help lead the daily operations and strategic vision of the Lycoming County Courts. Reporting directly to the President Judge and District Court Administrator, this management position oversees key judicial operations and court services. Key responsibilities include supervising operational processes and teams across essential court divisions such as probation, pretrial services, and domestic relations. Your work involves managing budgets, staffing, and long-term planning to keep the courts running efficiently. Additionally, you will write and administer grants to secure funding for court programs and coordinate the Lycoming County Criminal Justice Advisory Board, bringing together leaders to improve the criminal justice system
Job Duties
- Supervise and support court departments, including probation, pretrial services, and domestic relations, in areas of programming, staffing, fiscal management and strategic planning.
- Assist the Judges of the Lycoming County Court of Common Pleas and Magisterial District Courts in advancing judicial initiatives and managing special projects.
- Facilitate the Lycoming County Criminal Justice Advisory Board and subcommittees to drive ongoing system improvements.
- Serve as the liaison with state and local partners including County Commissioners, prosecutors, defense counsel, law enforcement, corrections, Children and Youth Services, mental health services, substance use disorder programs, and domestic violence survivor advocate organizations.
- Manage the Lycoming County Law Library and Self-Help Center.
- Develop, implement and improve the courts’ continuity of operations and emergency action plans.
- Assist the District Court Administrator with human resource management across all court divisions.
- Support the District Court Administrator with court safety, security, facilities and technology management.
- Act as the court’s grant writer and coordinator to secure funding for court departments and operations.
- Perform additional assignments as requested to ensure efficient court administration.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Judicial, Business, or Public Administration, or a closely related field; PLUS
- Two years of experience in court management or three years of varied office management work, including professional-level experience in budgeting, procurement, and human resource management.
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training may be considered.

- Knowledge of court procedures.

Salary information
Starting Annual Salary Range: $48,959 - $66,909
Maximum Annual Salary: $102,808
