Our ideal candidate
We are looking for a T-shaped engineer with a proven track record in operating and improving complex, mission-critical environments.

Core technical skills

• Strong experience with Linux environments, including Debian and Red Hat administration, scripting, and security.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD (GitLab CI), and certificate management.
• Experience with automation products like Ansible or Chef
• Experience scripting and interacting with APIs using Bash or Python.
• Experience with technical application management and troubleshooting of Python-based applications, including APIs and automation
• Experience building and maintaining on-premises and cloud-based Kubernetes environments, including multi-tenant clusters, containers and helm charts.
• Experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting, for example MySQL and MongoDB.
• Expertise in monitoring and observability tooling, such as Cilium, Hubble, and Datadog.
  
  

Kubernetes and security

• Strong experience with Linux environments, including Debian and Red Hat administration, scripting, and security.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes networking and security.
  • Cluster and workload hardening.
  • Experience with Cilium, or another CNI.
  • Experience with NGINX Ingress Controller.
  • Familiarity with storage solutions such as Portworx.
• Experience securing containerized environments and Kubernetes clusters.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks and security issues across a complex landscape.
  
  

Networking

• Solid L2/L3 networking fundamentals outside of Kubernetes: switching, routing, BGP, BFD, and SNMP, distributed and edge firewalling (for example Palo Alto), and connectivity such as leased lines.

 

Architecture, leadership, and collaboration

• Ability to create high- and low-level designs, both pre- and post-sales.
• Experience facilitating technical workshops and writing clear technical documentation.
• Strong presentation and collaboration skills across teams.
• A proactive attitude towards team building and knowledge sharing.
