Associate Engineer - Mechanical

## What you’ll do:

We are looking for motivated professionals with strong skills to execute engineering projects / solutions for Eaton’s Capacitor, VISOVAC & Network Protector product line through specifications, design, implementation, testing etc. A professional who will drive engineering excellence and leverage analysis first approach. He/she should support design cost-effective, reliable solutions and build VAVE portfolio. Professional must have strong mechanical knowledge and skills to execute ETO & MOL orders with VAVE projects. Success in this position requires the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, strong motivation for pursuing project objectives and the ability to learn new techniques and development processes.

• Work with Leads to perform design calculations, quick proto trials and documenting lessons learnt
• Prepare CAD models, 2D drawings, BoM and document release in SAP, Enovia through ECR process
• Research, review, and implement best-practices, new and emerging technologies, and design patterns to new and existing development
• Maintain and enhance technical proficiency in mechanical engineering related development environments, processes, and tools
• Plan and manage development work to achieve on-time delivery of NPD / VAVE, features and enhancements
• Coordinate and collaborate with product owners, leads, design, simulation, reliability, marketing and manufacturing development teams to produce engineering designs and specifications for new features and enhancements
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks as they arise during development
• Demonstrate strong learning agility while gaining in-depth product / process knowledge
• Generate ideas and innovative solutions which will provide competitive edge to business products
• Think creatively with optimizing delivery time maintaining quality and optimized cost
• Develop prototype, assist leads on proto build and testing trials
• Actively contribute to innovation in terms of disclosures, patents, trade secrets
• Utilize continuous improvement mindset while improving milestone completion timelines and use of digital tools
• Active communication with the cross functional team to ensure schedule, cost and performance alignment

## Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering in Mechanical
• 0 - 3 years
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in Low/ medium voltage product development is desired

## Skills:

• Strong engineering background with sound knowledge of electromechanical physics like short citcuit, temperature rise, impulse withstand, mechanical endurance, in accordance to IEEE/ IEC standards
• Hands on experience on prototype development
• Good understanding of VAVE process
• Proficient in Inventor, AutoCAD, 3D modelling, SAP, Enovia
• Knowledge of Low/ medium voltage domain, electromechanical product design, metal & polymer materials

Desired:

• Sound mechanical Engg. skill set including product design, manufacturing tech.
• Strong mechanical technical knowledge on understanding customer specifications and drive to prepare engineer-to-order design within targeted timeframe
• Experience with product design, prototyping, testing, agile methodologies
• Knowldge of engineering change order process
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Self-directed and able to report progress and metrics in a recurrent basis
