Lead the TEFL Methodology stream of the Student Teaching in English Program (STEP) for undergraduate students from Universidad del Atlántico, delivered at the University of Ottawa's Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI).This seven-week component prepares participants to deliver online English courses upon their return by moving from communicative language teaching principles to lesson planning, online delivery, teaching the four skills, classroom management, feedback, micro-teaching, peer debriefing, and the development of a practical lesson-planning portfolio. The instructor will design and facilitate engaging, student-centred sessions, integrate relevant digital teaching tools, create and evaluate assignments, support micro-teaching and structured peer feedback, and collaborate closely with the instructor and teaching assistant in the English Language Development and Language Enrichment components to ensure curriculum coherence and pedagogical alignment.
Comments: This course is offered exclusively on the University of Ottawa campus and requires in-person instruction.

ILOB -EIP/PIF/UoPal / OLBI - EIP/PIF/UoPal: $128.45 (2024-2025)The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31.
These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay.
These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.

Master's degree in second language teaching, TESL or related discipline. Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college/university level. Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course. Experience with team-teaching. TESL Certification or equivalent.
