Responsibilities

Infiltrator Water Technologies has an exciting new role available – Field Service Engineering Technician. We are seeking an experienced and talented Engineer with expertise in mechanical servicing. Here is a bit about the role:

 

We’re looking for a Technician who can deliver technical knowledge, curiosity mindset and professionalism too. The Field Service Technician provides outstanding troubleshooting solutions and servicing our treatment systems in the field in a timely, cost-efficient manner.

 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform field inspections, and performance verification of wastewater treatment systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control system issues.
• Diagnose performance of auxiliary systems like pumps, blowers, control panels, alarms, valves, and piping systems.
• Respond to service requests and technical support inquiries.
• Document all service activities, findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.
• Explain technical information clearly to customers and non-technical audiences.
• Support warranty evaluations and field investigations.
• Complete service reports, inspection reports, and expense documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain records of field activities using MS 365 applications.
• Communicate field findings, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities to engineering, sales and product management teams.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and Sales teams to service and repair treatment systems.

 

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATIONAL, AND TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Mechanical Engineering Technology or Environmental Science degree preferred.
• 5-8+ years of field service, wastewater, septic, water treatment, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with pumps, blowers, motors, controls, instrumentation, and treatment equipment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes is a plus.
• Experience with regulatory (IAPMO, NSF…) bodies is a plus.
• Basic understanding of PLCs, control panels, sensors, and alarm systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and mobile reporting tools.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Ability to understand and speak Spanish is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is a must.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and service calls.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Walk on uneven terrain and construction sites.
• Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work around wastewater treatment equipment.
• Travel to project sites approximately 75% of the time.
• Occasional overnight travel required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
• Utilize testing equipment such as multimeters, clamp meters, pressure gauges, and flow measurement devices.
• Ability to apply technical language and technical writing to capture field service diagnosis.

• First-time fix rate.
• Customer satisfaction ratings (internal).
• Quality of diagnosed issues and effective communication to engineering.
• Timely and accurate completion of service documentation.
