Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Director, Finance Business Partner – Technology to join our growing team in Daytona Beach, FL. 

The Sr. Director, Finance Business Partner - Technology is a strategic finance leadership role serving as the primary Finance partner to the Technology organization. This role provides financial leadership, strategic decision support, and investment governance across all Technology functions, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, cloud platforms, AI, data and analytics, digital capabilities, technology operations, and transformation initiatives. The Sr. Director works hand in hand with the Chief Information & Technology Officer (CITO) and serves as a trusted advisor to the CITO and Technology Senior Leadership Team on forecasts, budgets, cost containment, investment decisions, and appropriate accounting treatments. This role requires strong financial acumen, executive-level partnership, and a natural curiosity about technology, enabling the Finance function to better understand how technology investments create business value. The Sr. Director helps align technology investments, operating plans, and transformation priorities with Brown & Brown's strategic and financial objectives, while fostering strong collaboration between Finance and Technology leadership. 

How You Will Contribute: 

  • Serve as the primary Finance Business Partner to the CITO and Technology Leadership Team, working hand in hand with the CITO and participating in strategic planning, operating reviews, investment governance discussions, and enterprise technology decision-making. 

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes across the enterprise Technology organization, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and financial targets. 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the IT Senior Leadership Team on forecasts, budgets, cost containment strategies, accounting treatments, and the financial implications of technology operating and investment decisions. 

  • Lead the AI Value Office for Technology Solutions. Develop and maintain business case standards, investment review routines, benefits tracking, KPI dashboards, and value realization reporting for enterprise initiatives and AI investments. 

  • Provide financial leadership and strategic guidance on technology investments, transformation programs, infrastructure initiatives, cybersecurity investments, cloud strategies, AI initiatives, and enterprise platform modernization efforts. 

  • Partner with Technology leadership to evaluate, prioritize, and govern investment portfolios, ensuring business cases are supported by clear financial analysis, risk assessments, and measurable value outcomes. 

  • Develop and maintain transparency across Technology spending, including labor, contractors, software, cloud consumption, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data platforms, and strategic initiatives. 

  • Manage cost allocation methodologies across Technology functions, ensuring shared costs are distributed accurately and equitably to business units. 

  • Support cloud and AI financial governance through FinOps practices, consumption analytics, forecasting, optimization efforts, and value realization tracking. 

  • Partner with Procurement, Legal, Accounting, and Technology leaders to proactively manage major vendor relationships, contract renewals, and sourcing decisions, ensuring financial risks and opportunities are appropriately assessed. 

 

Skills & Experience to be Successful: 
Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • 10+ years of progressive Finance leadership experience, including senior business partnership with executive-level stakeholders. 

  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning and analysis, investment governance, business case development, executive business partnership, and value realization. 

  • Experience with technology, financial management, cloud economics, FinOps, vendor management, and technology portfolio governance. 

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders, synthesize complex information, and drive strategic decision-making. 

  • Curiosity about technology and the ability to understand, translate, and communicate with the financial drivers of technology investments, operating models, and transformation priorities. 

 

Preferred: 

  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or other advanced professional designations. 

  • Public company finance experience and/or experience within the insurance or broader financial services industry. 

  • Prior exposure to multi-entity, decentralized, or matrixed organizational structures. 

  • Experience supporting cloud, cybersecurity, AI, data, or digital transformation investments. 

  • Experience supporting enterprise Technology organizations, shared services functions, or large-scale transformation initiatives.
