Description
The Global Transfer Pricing and Intercompany Accounting team plays a critical role in enabling accurate enterprise financial reporting, transparent cost allocation, strong governance, and effective decision-making across Vanguard’s U.S. and international operations. The team sits at the intersection of accounting, tax, technology, legal, reporting, and business operations, providing finance professionals with the opportunity to influence enterprise allocation strategy, strengthen controls, modernize processes, and support a scalable global operating model.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee allocation engines, models, and supporting systems (e.g., Oracle intercompany modules). Runs source data integration into accounting systems.
- Validate allocation outputs and source data to support accurate monthly financial results and reliable reporting.
- Perform variance and trend analysis, investigate unusual activity, document findings, and communicate insights to stakeholders. Reports on financial balances and flux analysis both pre and post allocation.
- Validate intercompany balancing (i.e. eliminations), process manual intercompany entries, reconcile intercompany balance sheets and initiate intercompany settlements.
- Verify the accuracy of manual inputs and stat accounts. Ensures data accuracy. Identifies and researches critical variances and documents findings. Identify and explain variances and trends to stakeholders.
- Maintain key effective internal controls that support accurate financial and regulatory reporting.
- Support automation, system enhancement, and process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Prepare audit support and respond to auditor inquiries related to assigned intercompany accounting processes.
- Recommend the development and implementation of procedural changes to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness. Updates and maintains departmental procedures for financial reporting.
- Collaborate with colleagues and business partners to resolve issues, share knowledge, and support consistent execution.
- Participate in special projects and broader finance transformation initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years’ related work experience in an accounting or financial reporting environment.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Finance or Accounting degree is preferred.
- Transfer Pricing operations exp. helpful
- Intercompany Governance exp. helpful.
