Project Title
Wet Process Defectivity and Etch Rate Stability Improvement

Project Description
This internship project focuses on evaluating process conditions and equipment parameters to identify optimal solutions for reducing manufacturing defects, improving material etching uniformity, and enhancing process robustness within wet etch operations.
The project involves structured characterization studies to develop an understanding of process and equipment behavior and evaluate techniques for reducing defectivity and process variation. Through data analysis, guided experimentation, and AI-Enabled learning, the intern will develop foundational knowledge of wet processes, equipment architecture, and semiconductor manufacturing.

Objective of the Project

  • Identify process and equipment factors that influence defectivity, etch rate uniformity, and process stability.

  • Evaluate potential process and equipment improvements through structured characterization and data analysis.

  • Develop recommendations that improve process robustness and minimize sources of variation.

  • Explore the use of Artificial Intelligence and AI-Enabled tools to accelerate data interpretation and engineering learning.

Opportunities for Full Time Employment

High-performing interns who demonstrate strong technical capability, learning agility, and successful project outcomes may be considered for future internship or full-time employment opportunities, subject to business needs and hiring requirements.

Project Scope

  • Study wet process principles, including chemical interactions with different film types and process conditions.

  • Evaluate process recipe and equipment parameters to understand their influence on structural and performance outcomes.

  • Analyze process data to identify defect trends, etch rate behavior, and sources of variation.

  • Develop qualification plans, success criteria, and project timelines for selected process or equipment improvements.

  • Participate in structured technical discussions to learn process characterization and experimental design methodologies.

Learning Opportunities

  • Develop foundational knowledge of wet processes and equipment architecture.

  • Gain exposure to process characterization, qualification, and engineering evaluation techniques.

  • Apply statistical thinking and data-based decision-making to semiconductor process challenges.

  • Strengthen cross-functional collaboration and technical communication skills.

  • Explore AI Assistants and AI-Enabled workflows for data analysis, knowledge retrieval, and technical documentation.
