JOB SUMMARY: 

Global operations supervisors are leaders in charge of an organization's processes and operations spanning several countries. This person directs a portfolio of projects and smaller business units in alignment with the business strategies of the parent organization. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Interface with Customs Broker, Importer and Customer for Import Shipments. 
  • Updating Special Tracking and Accounting Reports for Customers. 
  • Ensure dispatch is aware of any special instructions/cut offs. 
  • Book air shipments with Pilot Gateway teams. 
  • Confirming Known shipper via KSMS for air shipments. 
  • Book ocean shipment with co-loader and ocean carriers. 
  • Process DG shipments including checklist. What is DG. 
  • Filing of AES. 
  • Accurately complete entry of pickup/quote information into Navigator. 
  • Tracking and tracing of shipments. 
  • Communicating to internal/external customers and sales regarding issues. 
  • Update/notate tracking milestones. 
  • Research of shipments for corporate requests/reports. 
  • Research of shipments for accounting requests/reports. 
  • Billing: closing out of shipments timely. 
  • Printing daily, researching, and responding timely. 
  • Timely invoicing and closing out of shipments. 
  • Recommend and develop new policies/procedures. 
  • Complete, submit and review personnel issues timely, including but not limited to; annual reviews, required disciplinary actions, punctuation, and keeping current on required training. 
  • Training of new employees according to Pilot's standards, procedures, and goals. 
  • Ability to facilitate progressive change, having a good relationship with other employees, following direction, and continually improving. 
  • Maintain operation by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all emergency policies and regulations. 
  • Flexible work hours/schedule including weekends/holidays. 
  • Must be available 24/7 accessibility via phone.

 

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: 

  • Clear understanding TSA regulations. 
  • Ability to work independently using sound judgment while working in a team-oriented environment. 
  • Must be able to calculate chargeable weight and volume for all shipments. 
  • Understands business needs, including how data is used and managed across different functional areas to provide unified consistent data solutions. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. 
  • Customer Service oriented. 
  • Superior communication and analytical thinking. 
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local legislation. 
  • Strong experience with managing budgets. 
  • Proficiency with statistics and dataset analytics. 
  • Must have excellent time management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Adaptable to client and organizational change. 

EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelors in Logistics, Business, Economics, Aviation, Mathematics, are a plus (3+ years of experience in lieu of degree). 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Must have Dangerous Goods certification. 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • 3+ years dispatching experience. 
  • 3 + years Import/Export experience. 
  • 3+ years of leadership experience. 
  • Must have knowledge of working with air and ocean carriers. 
  • Must have knowledge of POA, customs brokerage regulations, DO, ISF must have DG certification to handle DG shipments. 
  • Must have knowledge of airline regulations, example, oversize, banding. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

This is a clerical administrative position in a professional office setting. The employee is frequently required to sit. Occasionally stand, walk, use hands, stoop, bend, and reach. Extensive use of a phone and a PC is required. Position may require working remotely at times.

Pay Range:            

 

$80k-$85k

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.  The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
