Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced Scanning Manager to join our Document Management Services (DMS) team in Hamburg.
In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the scanning operations process group to fulfill business objectives, build and manage a dedicated operational team, and ensure long-term business continuity at our Hamburg location.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
In this role, you will:
- Strategic Leadership & Team Management: Provide strategic direction and lead the scanning production and internal service teams at the Hamburg location, taking direct and indirect personnel management responsibility.
- Operational Control & Daily Execution: Oversee daily volume forecasting, capacity planning, and hardware maintenance to ensure peak productivities and SLA compliance.
- Internal & External Collaboration & Escalations: Act as a key operational interface to Sales Field Service, Process Controllers, Regional Operations Managers, the Works Council (Betriebsrat), and corporate departments (IT, HR, Finance, Customer Service), while serving as the primary lead for customer contact and operational escalations.
- Quality, Compliance & Global Standards: Drive continuous improvement and best practice exchanges while analyzing, adapting, and implementing global operational standards tailored to local Hamburg conditions.
What You'll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience & Education: A completed university/technical college degree (Hochschul- oder Fachhochschulstudium) or a Master's certification (Meisterausbildung) paired with several years of professional experience in high-volume production or document management scanning environments.
- Domain & Technical Expertise: Strong technical affinity with document capture/BPM technologies, combined with practical experience in operational control and internal sales service.
- Leadership & Strategic Capability: Proven expertise in personnel leadership, coaching, target setting, and executing strategic business processes.
- Key Soft Skills & Languages: Advanced proficiency in both English and German, demonstrated initiative, assertiveness, high cost awareness, and strong communication, presentation, and moderation skills.
