Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Product, and Business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions and process improvements.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive business value.
- Develop, validate, and deploy statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics solutions to address manufacturing and business challenges.
- Lead moderately complex analytics and machine learning projects from problem definition through deployment and adoption.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, root cause investigations, and advanced statistical analysis to solve real-world operational problems.
- Design and implement scalable data preparation, cleansing, transformation, and feature engineering workflows.
- Partner with Data Engineers and software teams to operationalize machine learning models and advanced analytics solutions.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Research, evaluate, and apply emerging AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics techniques to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior team members on data science methodologies, best practices, and analytical approaches.
- Ensure data science solutions align with Micron's Responsible AI, security, privacy, compliance, and data governance standards.
- Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to responsibly and effectively utilize AI-enabled tools for research, analysis, content creation, problem-solving, operational tasks, and business outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and machine learning technologies to enhance productivity, accelerate innovation, and improve decision-making.
- Commitment to continuous learning and the responsible use of AI while adhering to Micron's Responsible AI, security, privacy, compliance, and data governance requirements.
Minimum Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, or a related field.
- Proven experience developing and deploying statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics solutions to solve business, engineering, or manufacturing problems.
- Experience working with large and complex datasets, including data extraction, cleansing, transformation, feature engineering, and model development.
- Experience using SQL and other database query languages to access, manipulate, and analyze data.
- Strong software development and programming skills with experience building scalable analytics solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects and influence stakeholders through data-driven insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Must-Have Technical Skills
- Statistical modeling and machine learning techniques, including supervised, unsupervised, and semi-supervised learning.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R.
- Strong SQL and database querying skills.
- Data preparation, feature engineering, exploratory data analysis, and model validation.
- Software development and analytics solution development.
- Experience with large-scale data processing and analytics workflows.

- Master's or PhD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks such as PySpark, SparkR, SparklyR, or Apache Spark.
- Experience with Hadoop ecosystem technologies, including Hive, Spark, and HBase.
- Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau.
- Experience working with time-series data, image analytics, anomaly detection, or datasets with evolving distributions.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Experience applying AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics within semiconductor manufacturing or other highly automated industrial environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data science and machine learning platforms.
- Experience mentoring junior data scientists or leading technical initiatives.
