Overview
The Broad Center (TBC) at the Yale School of Management (Yale SOM) is a catalyst for improving K-12 public education in large urban public-school systems in the United States through leadership development, impactful research, and policy engagement.
The Project Coordinator will support the work of various programs and initiatives of TBC, especially the Center’s work with faculty, research initiatives, SOM student engagement, special projects, and the two signature leadership development programs: the Master’s in Public Education Management Program, and the Fellowship for Public Education Leadership. Reporting to the Associate Director and in close partnership with the Director of Academic and Student Affairs and other TBC staff, the Project Coordinator will play an important role in supporting the center to reach its ambitious objectives.
- Complete office related computer work using MS Office. Work may include data entry, editing Excel spreadsheets, formatting Word documents, editing PowerPoint presentations and printing materials. The project coordinator may also be trained to use other essential Yale platforms.
- Support event planning for a variety of programming including: monthly faculty coffee chats; convenings for the TBC Advisory Committee; national conference attendance by TBC staff. Event planning duties to include: determining and executing catering orders; booking hotel rooms; supporting travel for advisory committee members and the executive director; processing expense reports and reimbursements.
- Prepare and process expense reports in support of programming connected to the Center’s various activities, especially research activities, Advisory Committee convenings, and conference expenses.
- Support the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding for TBC pre-docs and post-docs under direction of the Associate Director. Support planning for the Broad Seminar in academic year 26-27.
- Provide ongoing coordination for TBC's interactions with stakeholder groups, including the SOM Student Education Club, e.g., manage the collection and advertising of education internship opportunities from Broad alumni with SOM students.
- Focused projects to support the Master’s Program in support of the work of the Director of Academic and Student Affairs.
- Assist with the preparation for Fellows and Students to participate in coursework, social activities, and networking while on campus for three program weeks during June, July, and August 2026, including preparation for the Master’s in Public Education Management Commencement celebration on August 8, 2026.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Principal Responsibilities
1. Oversees and coordinates administrative, program, and office activities. Establishes, selects, implements, and coordinates office procedures and systems. Serves as principal source of information to students, staff, and faculty on policies, procedures, programs, and office activities. 2. Oversees, instructs, and coordinates activities of support staff. Oversees the preparation of materials for grants, contracts and budgets. Monitors expenditures and reconciles financial statements. 3. Provides editorial support for a journal/publication. Proofreads and edits material for grammatical and factual accuracy. Tracks copy through various editing and production stages. Communicates with authors, printers, and others concerned with published work. 4. Determines administrative, facility, and equipment needs for symposia, lectures, seminars, and conferences. Assembles and arranges for necessary items. Determines sources of data. Compiles, synthesizes and manipulates data. Summarizes findings and writes reports or portions of reports. 5. Greets visitors. Answers and screens telephone calls. Assesses nature of business. Responds to requests for information and provides assistance. Screens and responds to mail. 6. Formats, keyboard, proofread, and edits correspondence, reports, manuscripts, grants, and other material. Assembles attachments and corresponding material. Reviews outgoing material for completeness, dates, and signatures. Composes substantive correspondence and written material. 7. Coordinates travel arrangements. Schedules and coordinates meetings and appointments. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. Takes minutes or dictation. Performs additional functions incidental to office activities.
Required Education and Experience
Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
