Job Purpose:
The Head of Department (English) / Primary English Teacher is responsible for providing academic leadership to the English Department while delivering high-quality English lessons at the Primary level in accordance with the Malaysian National Curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning:
  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons for Primary students in accordance with the Malaysian National Curriculum.
  • Develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary and comprehension.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet different learning abilities and needs.
  • Differentiate lessons and learning activities to support students of varying abilities.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, creativity, critical thinking and a love for reading and learning.

Department Leadership:
  • Provide academic leadership and direction for the English Department.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, English, English Language or a related field.
  • Recognised teaching qualification is required/preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably at Primary level.
  • Previous experience in a Head of Department, Subject Coordinator or similar academic leadership role is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the Malaysian National Curriculum.
  • Experience in curriculum planning, assessment and teacher development.
