Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Benefits Billing Specialist in our Human Resources team.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Benefits Billing Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the end-to-end process of benefits invoicing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Invoice Processing and Review:

o Accurately process and reconcile invoices for employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other related programs.

o Verify invoice data against internal records and identify discrepancies or errors.

o Ensure timely submission of payments to vendors and maintain detailed records of transactions.

2. Reconciliation and Reporting:

o Perform monthly reconciliations of benefits invoices to ensure accurate billing and cost allocation.

o Generate regular reports summarizing billing activity, discrepancies, and resolutions.

o Assist in forecasting and budgeting for benefit-related expenses.

3. Vendor Communication:

o Serve as the primary point of contact for benefit vendors regarding vendor setup, billing inquiries, and adjustments.

o Collaborate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure adherence to contractual agreements.

4. Compliance and Documentation:

o Ensure all billing processes comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.

o Maintain organized and up-to-date records of invoices, reconciliations, and communications for auditing purposes.

5. Collaboration:

o Work closely with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of benefits billing with overall payroll and financial processes.

o Provide support during audits, benefits enrollment periods, and vendor contract renewals as needed.



What you’ll bring:

• 2+ years of experience in billing, accounting, or benefits administration.

• Associate's or Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Familiarity with employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans, is a plus. Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or similar certification is a plus.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems is highly preferred.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
