Job Description:
Job Responsibilities:
Supervises the classroom; Assists students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments(e.g. reading stories, listening to students reading, language, spelling, facilitating activities, motor perception programs, colors, number charts, checks homework, etc.) for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts and reaching their academic goals and potential
Monitors student attendance of the program by collecting attendance rosters; Supervises student participation in structured and unstructured activities; Accepts responsibility for maintenance/necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playground
Demonstrates enthusiasm, adaptability, dependability, and a strong work ethic; Treats all children with dignity and respect; Attends all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences; Supervises all activities to ensure safety at all times; Reports to the Co-Leaders any problem that may occur with the children; Performs additional program duties as assigned by the Co-Leaders according to the School's needs
Participates in dismissal procedures at the end of After Care, ensuring that each child leaves with the appropriate adult(either Lead Teacher or authorized adult); Greets parents and children with salutations; Works with other staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree; Teaching Certificate (particularly K-5) or eligibility for certification in Louisiana
