You will join Qualcomm's Test & Verification Engineering team, a group that plays a critical role in delivering reliable, high-quality AI and system software across Qualcomm platforms.

The team develops and maintains automated testing, verification, and CI/CD infrastructure used by machine learning, systems, and embedded engineering teams. ## About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to help develop and enhance automated test infrastructure and verification systems supporting Qualcomm's AI and embedded software technologies.

This is a hands-on technical role for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, improving engineering productivity, and delivering high-quality testing solutions. You will work closely with software, machine learning, and systems teams to improve automation, increase test coverage, and strengthen product quality across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate combines strong Python development skills with experience in test automation, CI/CD systems, and software verification. You are passionate about quality, continuous improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions at scale.

## Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test and verification frameworks for AI, systems, and embedded software products.
• Develop and enhance Python-based test automation solutions used throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Create automated test suites to validate functionality, performance, reliability, and regression requirements.
• Contribute to the design and improvement of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure, including Jenkins-based automation workflows.
• Investigate, debug, and resolve software and test infrastructure issues.
• Partner with software, machine learning, and systems engineers to define testing requirements and verification strategies.
• Analyze test results and quality metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive defect resolution.
• Improve test efficiency, scalability, and maintainability through automation and tooling enhancements.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

## Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, test automation, software verification, or related technical roles.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with software testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and verification practices.
• Experience working with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong Linux development and debugging experience.
• Experience troubleshooting complex software issues and analyzing root causes.
• Knowledge of software quality, testing principles, and automation best practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

## Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and maintaining large-scale test automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of embedded software, firmware, device validation, or hardware/software integration testing.
• Experience with machine learning workflows, tooling, or AI software products.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or container-based development environments.
• Familiarity with cloud-based development and testing environments.
• Experience developing automation using Python and additional languages such as C or C++.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.
