Duration: Approx. 24 months with potential to extend
Pay rate: Rates negotiable dependent on skills and experience

Overview
Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced APS6 Senior Grants Program Officer to oversee the implementation and management of grant and program initiatives supporting international green economy priorities.
Working within a high-profile policy and program environment, the successful candidate will help translate policy objectives into operational outcomes. The role involves extensive collaboration across government and with international counterparts, with a particular focus on initiatives spanning energy transition, research and innovation, standards, and skills and capability development.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated Australian Government grants experience, strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work with limited direction while managing competing priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Australian Government grant initiatives with limited direction, ensuring effective delivery and alignment with policy objectives.
- Consult and collaborate with relevant Australian Government agencies and technical experts to support effective grants management.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with Australian Government, international and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate activities across government to support delivery of agreed green economy and energy transition priorities.
- Prepare high-quality advice, briefs, Cabinet materials and ministerial correspondence as required.
- Identify and manage risks, opportunities and emerging issues affecting program delivery.
- Support the development of regional cooperation initiatives in partnership with government stakeholders.
- Manage competing priorities and contribute collaboratively within a high-performing team.
Experience/requirements:
- A current NV1 security clearance is essential.
- Must be an Australian citizen at time of application
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and managing Australian Government grant programs.
- Strong understanding of government grants administration, governance and program delivery.
- Proven ability to manage grants and programs with limited direction.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, including the ability to work effectively across government.
- Excellent written communication skills, including experience preparing high-quality briefs, advice and correspondence.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgement and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within required timeframes.
- Experience in green economy, energy transition, trade, international engagement or related policy/program areas will be highly regarded.
- A high standard of integrity and professionalism.
