Production Lead
Location: Adkins, TX 78101
Employment Type: Full-time, W-2, on-site
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m.-5:45 p.m.
Pay: $30 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Lead to oversee daily manufacturing operations, coordinate workflow, support production employees, and ensure projects move efficiently through all stages of the fabrication process.
The Production Lead serves as a key connection between the production team and operations management. This role requires strong manufacturing experience, leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production activities and ensure workflow goals are achieved.
- Follow up on established production schedules and priorities.
- Monitor employee attendance and punctuality.
- Coordinate workflow between departments including welding, assembly, painting, cutting, and laser operations.
- Identify production delays, bottlenecks, equipment issues, and other operational challenges.
- Communicate production concerns and support implementation of solutions.
- Address basic employee concerns and resolve routine workplace issues.
- Assist with assigning employees based on production priorities and workload.
- Perform basic visual inspections to verify product quality.
- Ensure compliance with company quality and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
- Complete daily production reports and operational evaluations.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety throughout the work areas.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in metal fabrication preferred.
- Strong knowledge of production operations and shop workflow.
- Experience or knowledge of welding, assembly, painting, cutting, and laser processes.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead by example and promote accountability within the team.
- Basic computer skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading teams of 10 or more employees.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.
- Experience in custom metal fabrication.
