Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Therapeutic Interventions: Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretching routines, balance training, and functional mobility activities as prescribed by the Physical Therapist.
- Patient Transfers: Assist patients with safe transfers from wheelchairs, walkers, or beds to therapy equipment and treatment areas.
- Family & Caregiver Support: Educate patients and their family members on effective at-home exercises, mobility techniques, and adaptive strategies to enhance recovery.
Clinical Collaboration & Administration:
- Plan Modification: Obtain and record data regarding patient performance and clinical progress, collaborating with the lead PT to adjust care plans as necessary.
- Department Operations: Maintain clean, sanitary, and well-organized therapy spaces and equipment; perform administrative support duties such as scheduling and documentation management.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
- PTA Licensure: Active, unrestricted State License as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) [Required].
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification [Required].
Education & Experience:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program [Required].
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience [Required].
- Setting Experience: Demonstrated experience working in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation environments [Required].
