Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated, skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our clinical rehabilitation team. Working under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT), you will deliver direct patient care, help implement custom treatment plans, and track functional progress for patients of all ages—from pediatric to geriatric populations.
This position is ideal for a collaborative clinician experienced in long-term care or subacute rehabilitation who excels at motivating patients, restoring physical function, and providing hands-on therapeutic support.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Treatment:
- Therapeutic Interventions: Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretching routines, balance training, and functional mobility activities as prescribed by the Physical Therapist.
- Patient Transfers: Assist patients with safe transfers from wheelchairs, walkers, or beds to therapy equipment and treatment areas.
- Family & Caregiver Support: Educate patients and their family members on effective at-home exercises, mobility techniques, and adaptive strategies to enhance recovery.
Clinical Collaboration & Administration:
- Plan Modification: Obtain and record data regarding patient performance and clinical progress, collaborating with the lead PT to adjust care plans as necessary.
- Department Operations: Maintain clean, sanitary, and well-organized therapy spaces and equipment; perform administrative support duties such as scheduling and documentation management.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
Licensure & Certifications:
- PTA Licensure: Active, unrestricted State License as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) [Required].
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification [Required].
Education & Experience:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program [Required].
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience [Required].
- Setting Experience: Demonstrated experience working in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation environments [Required].
