SUMMARY

As a Senior Fraud Response Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the Fraud Response Team by developing, enhancing, and operationalizing fraud detection, investigation, and response capabilities across our digital banking platform. This position is ideal for someone passionate about fraud analytics, data-driven investigations, automation, and building scalable solutions that strengthen fraud prevention and response efforts.

You will partner closely with Product, Security, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to support complex fraud investigations, drive incident response activities, identify systemic vulnerabilities, and implement controls that reduce fraud risk. The role combines technical expertise, fraud intelligence, and problem-solving skills to deliver effective security tooling, insights, and processes that improve investigation efficiency, strengthen fraud defenses, and enhance the customer experience. If you thrive on solving complex fraud challenges, leveraging data to drive decisions, and building innovative solutions that protect customers and the organization, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in high profile fraud investigations and lead technical remediation efforts with internal/external business partners.
  • Design, develop, and maintain fraud detection, monitoring, and response capabilities across cloud environments (primarily AWS/Azure)
  • Build, deploy, and optimize fraud prevention tools, controls, and automated workflows
  • Design and automate security solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, PowerShell, SQL and other scripting languages
  • Leverage native AWS services and security tooling to enhance fraud detection, investigation capabilities, and overall platform protection.
  • Collaborate with Security Architects to align fraud prevention and response capabilities with enterprise security architecture and risk management strategies.
  • Partner with Security Operations (SOC/SIRT) and engineering teams to ensure appropriate alerting, monitoring, escalation, and operational support/handoffs for fraud-related events.
  • Develop and implement automation to improve fraud investigations, data collection, alert triage, and response efficiency.
  • Translate investigation findings into actionable improvements to systems, processes, controls, and customer protections.
  • Support fraud governance and remediation initiatives by providing technical expertise, risk assessments, and implementation guidance.
  • Identify opportunities for platform, process, and control enhancements that reduce fraud risk and improve the customer experience.
  • Stay current on fraud trends, attack methodologies, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to continuously strengthen fraud prevention and response capabilities.
  • Lead or participate in fraud response activities occurring outside normal business hours, including on-call support for significant fraud incidents when needed.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field and a minimum of 12 years of related experience; an advanced degree with 8+ years of experience; or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Proven experience implementing security solutions in public clouds (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)
  • Expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies like Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Perl)
  • Experience using GitLab/GitHub for CI/CD and version control
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively in a high-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting across all levels of the organization
  • Self-starter mentality with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail
  • Experience in securing financial or fraud-sensitive applications is a plus
