PacAero is looking for a Weekend Shift QC Inspector (Machining) to join our manufacturing team in Agawam, MA. In this role, you’ll inspect high-precision machined components used in critical aerospace applications, helping ensure every part meets engineering, customer and quality requirements before it moves through production.


We’re looking for someone with experience inspecting machined components who understands tight tolerances, knows their way around precision measurement equipment, and takes pride in getting the details right.

What You’ll Do

As a QC Inspector, you’ll perform dimensional and visual inspections of precision machined components using engineering drawings, specifications and applicable quality requirements. You’ll use a variety of precision measurement and inspection equipment to verify parts meet dimensional, geometric and workmanship requirements.

You’ll work closely with Machining, Quality and Engineering to identify and communicate issues, support root-cause investigation and keep quality parts moving through production.


What We’re Looking For

Previous experience inspecting precision machined components in a manufacturing environment is required. You should be comfortable reading engineering drawings, interpreting dimensions and tolerances, and using precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators and other inspection tools.


Experience with GD&T and CMM inspection is highly valued. Aerospace, defense or other high-precision manufacturing experience is a plus.

Schedule:  Full-time | Weekend Shift | Onsite in Agawam, MA | Friday, Saturday & Sunday | Three 12-hour shifts


Work 36 hours and get paid for 40. This position is also eligible for a weekend shift differential


As part of a manufacturing environment supporting customer demand, overtime may occasionally be required, including extended shifts or additional days when business needs arise.

Requirements

  • Perform in-process and final visual, dimensional, and microscopic inspections of precision machined and plated components
  • Inspect parts to engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, manufacturing documentation, and applicable customer requirements
  • Use precision measuring and inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, gage pins, optical comparators, Visual CMMs, inspection microscopes, and other applicable tools
  • Interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T requirements
  • Verify parts meet customer, engineering, dimensional, workmanship, and quality requirements
  • Identify and document nonconforming material and complete required quality documentation, including rework and nonconformance reports
  • Review Certificates of Conformance (CoCs) and manufacturing documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain required quality and inspection records
  • Verify inspection equipment is appropriate for use and within required calibration status
  • Work collaboratively with Machining, Plating, Quality, Engineering, and Production to investigate discrepancies and resolve quality concerns
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, efficiency, and customer requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and audit-ready inspection area
  • Follow established quality procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Quality Manager

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training is a plus
  • 1–5 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience inspecting precision CNC machined components strongly preferred
  • Experience inspecting electroplated components or working in a plating environment is highly valued
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, gage pins, optical comparators, Visual CMMs, and inspection microscopes
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
  • Knowledge of GD&T preferred
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, medical device, or another high-precision manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong computer skills for inspection documentation and quality records
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent visual acuity, including prolonged microscope use.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform repetitive precision inspection tasks.
  • Frequently handle small, intricate components.
  • Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while using precision inspection equipment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position works in an active manufacturing and quality inspection environment and requires regular interaction with precision machined and plated components, inspection equipment, and production areas. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.


The role may require standing and sitting for extended periods; sustained visual focus while performing detailed and microscopic inspections; regular use of precision measuring and inspection equipment; handling, positioning, and inspecting small or detailed components; occasional bending, reaching, and movement throughout production areas; and occasionally lifting and moving materials or components weighing up to 40 pounds.

Expected Compensation

The anticipated pay range posted for this position represents PacAero (Litron, LLC)’s good-faith estimate of compensation for the role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, internal equity, geographic market data, current market conditions, and the overall compensation and benefits package associated with the position, in accordance with applicable law and Company policy.
