What You Will Do:
Raytheon is seeking an Engineering Section Manager to lead the Metrology Engineering Team. In this Section Manager role, you’ll oversee a team responsible for maintaining and improving Metrology processes, developing calibration methods and procedures, and analyzing test system error sources.
In this leadership role you’ll ensure compliance with Raytheon processes, industry standards and customer requirements while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of multidisciplinary metrology engineers and providing support and direction to calibration technicians and test equipment maintenance personnel.
- Managing staffing, training, performance development, succession planning and labor forecasting.
- Maintaining and improving processes governing equipment classification, asset lifecycle management, scheduling, traceability and documentation.
- Collaborating with engineering, operations, quality and program teams to ensure test readiness and minimize downtime associated with equipment calibration or repair.
- Serving as the accountable owner for metrology standards, procedures and technical decision‑making within the section.
- Managing staffing, training, performance development, succession planning and labor forecasting.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1, Raytheon Quality Management System and applicable government and industry requirements.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing turnaround time, increasing throughput and enhancing data accuracy within calibration and maintenance systems.
- Overseeing supplier engagement and performance for external calibration or repair vendors.
This job is posted as ONSITE, and is based at Raytheon’s Tucson, AZ facility.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with test equipment maintenance, product test or quality in a manufacturing environment
- Leadership experience in a technical environment
- Ability to obtain interim Secret U.S government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Systems, or Technical Management.
- Strong knowledge of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty and test instrumentation
- Prior experience in aerospace/defense environments with government compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with database asset management systems such as Indysoft
- Experience with lean principles, continuous improvement, and root‑cause analysis.
- Proven capability to collaborate cross‑functionally to maintain compliance with established policies and enhance process effectiveness.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
