About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to join our Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). This is a structured, supervised internship focused on practical knowledge, security operations discipline, documentation, and professional work habits. You will gain hands-on exposure to real-world security operations in a controlled learning environment.
What you will be doing:
1. GSOC Workflow Familiarization & Security Operations Orientation
- Complete GSOC onboarding and security awareness training.
- Review security policies and compliance requirements.
- Use ticketing and knowledge-base tools under supervision.
- Observe alert triage and escalation workflows.
2. Supervised Shadowing & Security Investigation Exposure
- Shadow analysts during investigations and case reviews.
- Observe triage, evidence gathering, and escalations.
- Join lessons-learned sessions and shift handovers.
- Assist with case documentation under supervision.
3. Security Knowledge Base & Documentation Support
- Review and improve operational documentation.
- Identify gaps and update SOPs and knowledge articles.
- Convert content into user-friendly reference materials.
4. Security Metrics & Reporting Support
- Support metrics collection, validation, and reporting.
- Perform data cleanup and quality checks.
- Create reporting visualizations and dashboards; identify trends.
5. AI-Assisted Security Operations Learning
- Explore approved AI use cases for operations.
- Validate AI-generated content against documentation standards.
- Draft articles/summaries using AI tools and recommend effective prompts.
What we need:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems.
- Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, cybersecurity concepts, cloud/security monitoring concepts, and incident response fundamentals.
- Strong analytical thinking, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
- Strong confidentiality discipline and a genuine willingness to learn.
- Eagerness to learn tools such as SIEM, EDR, ticketing, and knowledge-base platforms in a supervised, access-controlled manner.
What You'll Deliver (Capstone Outputs):
Completed onboarding checklist, learning journal, GSOC workflow summary, incident lifecycle process map, case review templates, observation reports, documentation gap analysis, updated knowledge-base articles, metrics/dashboard reports, and an AI use-case assessment.
