Description

The Scroll eCompressor Mechanical engineer will be mainly responsible for the mechanical structure design of the scroll compressor, selects and develops high-strength, wear-resistant materials suitable for scroll compressor applications, ensuring its durability and high efficiency. He/She has rich experience in scroll compressor design, familiar with mechanical processing technology, and material science. And fully understand the properties of metals and non-metals and their applications in compressors.

Job Responsibilities:

* Lead or participate in the mechanical design and development of scroll eCompressor components and systems, including scroll elements, housing, bearings, and sealing solutions.
* Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress, fatigue, thermal, and vibration analysis using FEA and other simulation tools.
* Develop and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in accordance with BorgWarner standards and industry best practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure seamless product development and integration.
* Support the selection and evaluation of materials and manufacturing processes for eCompressor components.
* Plan and execute design validation plans (DVP&R), including bench testing, rig testing, and vehicle-level testing.
* Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and propose effective corrective actions.
* Prepare and present technical reports, design reviews, and project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and competitive landscape related to eCompressors and automotive thermal management.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant automotive standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Job Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design and development, preferably within the automotive industry or rotating machinery.
* Demonstrated experience with scroll compressor technology, including design, analysis, and testing.
* Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, NX) and FEA simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, Abaqus).
* Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, material science, and machine design.
* Experience with DVP&R, FMEA, and other automotive product development methodologies.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a global team environment.
* Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
