Lead Warehouse Operations Supporting Manufacturing and Distribution
Custom Filters Direct is seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee the warehouse functions supporting our manufacturing and distribution operations.
This position is responsible for receiving, material handling, forklift operations, incoming and outgoing shipments, warehouse organization, and inventory-control oversight. The Warehouse Manager will supervise warehouse employees and ensure materials and finished products move safely, accurately, and efficiently throughout the facility.
This role is focused specifically on the warehouse portion of the operation. It does not oversee manufacturing or production employees.
Schedule
- First Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.โ3:30 p.m.
- Overtime, including weekends, may be required based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, material handling, storage, and inventory control.
- Supervise and develop forklift operators, material handlers, warehouse employees, and the Inventory Control Associate.
- Coordinate the accurate and timely movement of incoming materials and outgoing finished products.
- Ensure production departments receive the correct materials needed to maintain workflow.
- Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, adjustments, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
- Manage warehouse staffing, schedules, attendance, training, performance, and accountability.
- Monitor safety, productivity, labor utilization, shipping accuracy, inventory accuracy, and equipment condition.
- Maintain organized storage locations and improve warehouse layout, material flow, procedures, and overall efficiency.
- Support the implementation and proper use of inventory and warehouse-management systems.
- Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, purchasing, customer service, and leadership to resolve operational issues.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse management or warehouse supervisory experience is required.
- Experience leading forklift operators, material handlers, shipping, receiving, or inventory employees.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling.
- Experience using inventory-management, ERP, or warehouse-management systems.
- Experience with cycle counts, physical inventory, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy investigations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage employees, establish priorities, and maintain accountability.
- Experience with scheduling, attendance management, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety and powered industrial equipment.
- Ability to develop procedures, track performance, and improve warehouse processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.
- Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, reports, and warehouse systems.
- Forklift or powered industrial equipment experience is strongly preferred.
- Manufacturing, e-commerce fulfillment, or direct-distribution experience is preferred.
Work Environment
- Hands-on leadership position requiring regular presence throughout the warehouse.
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Regular movement between receiving, shipping, inventory, warehouse, and production-support areas.
- Fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.
- Facility temperatures may vary depending on the season.
