Facilities Services Supervisor- Bronson Battle Creek, Full Time- 1st ShiftThe Facilities Services Supervisor is responsible for the planning and organizing of the daily operations and improvements of the Facilities Services Department.
Direct supervision and Leadership of approximately 20 FTE’s including the Physical Plant (Boiler Room), Maintenance Department, and Grounds department teams. The facilities supervisor is responsible for continued training and goal setting for the facilities team members.
This position interacts daily with outside contractors including mechanical and electrical trades. The Facilities Services Supervisor works closely with regulatory agencies including State Fire Marshals, Department of Health, TJC, and oversees all renovation projects for the hospital including carpentry, electrical and lighting upgrades.
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met, including all documentation required for regulatory compliance. The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the facility and grounds are maintained to the standards set by the Senior leadership team and Survey ready every day.
High school diploma or equivalent. 5 years’ previous proven experience in Facilities/Maintenance required. Previous management experience preferred.
This position needs to have basic to advanced knowledge in the following areas: Power distribution, Emergency Power Generation and Distribution, fire alarm systems, boiler systems, HVAC, plumbing, computer skills, Medical Gas systems, and Pneumatic tube systems.
May be exposed to noise, dust, and extended shifts while performing job duties. Walking and standing on a regular basis. Must have good interpersonal skills. Interacts with other management teams, patients, visitors, and outside contractors. Able to formulate emails and memos. Able to lead department huddles and meetings when needed.
1. Works with Manager and other members of the staff in the development of goals.
2. Develops and secures approval of the department budget for areas of responsibility.
3. Assists in the development of policies and procedures.
4. Hires, evaluates, develops, disciplines, and discharges subordinates.
5. Oversees the establishment of appropriate management control procedures to monitor work volumes, quality of services, and assessment of areas of responsibility.
6. Consults with staff as appropriate to solve operational problems and to improve services.
7. Receives and investigates all customer feedback concerning the department. Takes appropriate corrective action if necessary.
8. Participates as a member in a variety of Safety, EOC, and ongoing committees.
9. Works closely with the other support systems teams to ensure we offer a safe, clean, and inviting facility to our community.
