At St. Peter's Health Partners, our Patient Access team is often the very first connection patients have with our organization. We're looking for compassionate, customer-focused professionals who thrive on helping others and creating exceptional experiences during what can often be stressful times.
As a Registration Associate, you'll play a vital role in ensuring patients receive a seamless healthcare experience from the moment they arrive. You'll combine outstanding customer service skills with attention to detail as you assist patients with registration, insurance verification, financial counseling, and navigating the healthcare process.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and families with professionalism, empathy, and a service-first mindset
- Register patients efficiently and accurately for outpatient and inpatient services
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications
- Collect patient financial responsibility payments and explain benefits and coverage in an easy-to-understand manner
- Serve as a trusted resource for patients, physician offices, and hospital departments
- Utilize multiple systems and technology platforms to support patient access functions
- Help improve patient experiences by identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, payer guidelines, and organizational policies
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of customer service experience
- HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certification within one year of hire
Preferred
- Patient Access or healthcare registration experience
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Experience with insurance verification and authorizations
- Understanding of diagnostic and procedural coding
- Ability to explain insurance benefits and financial responsibilities
Pay range: $17.25-$22.54
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
