Job Description Summary
Energy Consulting offers global clients a wide range of solutions across a spectrum of power generation, delivery, and utilization. As a member of the Grid Code Compliance team, will work directly with power producers, utilities, and developers to understand how generating facilities interact with the electrical grid. You will learn how to analyze, test, and validate the performance of generating equipment and its controls, and how to turn complex engineering results into practical answers for customers.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support and execute engineering studies involving generator and governor performance, controls, and grid requirements.
- Develop, verify, and validate electrical load flow and dynamic models used to represent generating facilities
- Support testing and data collection at power plants
- Analyze test and simulation results to identify discrepancies and refine models
- Develop engineering calculations, reports, presentations, and technical documents
- Work with experienced engineers to troubleshoot technical problems and develop solutions
- Use industry-standard engineering software and tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, etc
- Take increasing ownership of technical tasks as your knowledge and experience develop
- Travel to customer sites when required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electric Power Engineering from an accredited college or university
- 0 to 2 years of experience in Engineering and/or Product Management in the Power Generation industry
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor work visas at the Bachelor's level, now or in the future, for this position vacancy.
- Must be 18 years or older.

- Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time domestically and internationally
Desired Characteristics
- Advanced Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Electric Power Engineering
- 0 to 1 year Field experience with Thermal power generation turbine and excitation control systems
- Demonstrated knowledge in electrical or electric power engineering, conventional and renewable power plant design / operation
- Load flow, dynamic, short circuit and protection modelling and analyses.
- Proficiency performing power systems analysis using dynamic/transient simulation and other analytical tools such as PSLF, PSS/e, PSCAD and MATLAB
- Demonstrated capability to complete projects on-time and on-budget as either individual contributor
- Demonstrated ability to perform engineering analysis and design, develop engineering solutions in a team environment, and to provide technical consulting services to customers
- Proficiency with office productivity software (e.g., MS Office, Visio, MS Project)
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills (e.g., ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers, plant staff. Etc.)
- Internship, co-op, undergraduate research, or relevant engineering project experience.
- Strong project management and collaboration skills

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $72,000.00 and $108,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
