JOB SUMMARY


The Regional Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating regional operations that support membership growth, volunteer engagement, girl experience, and community partnerships within an assigned geographic region. Reporting to the Regional Vice President, this position provides leadership, supervision, and support to regional staff responsible for recruitment, girl experience, volunteer engagement, and community partnerships while ensuring alignment with council priorities and regional goals.


The Regional Manager develops and implements regional strategies that strengthen membership, volunteer engagement, program participation, and community impact. This position collaborates with staff, volunteers, schools, businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and positive outcomes for girls throughout the region.


The Regional Manager utilizes data, community insights, and organizational priorities to evaluate regional performance, identify opportunities for growth, and support continuous improvement efforts. Through leadership, relationship building, staff development, and cross-functional collaboration, this position advances organizational goals, enhances member experiences, and strengthens the Council's presence within the communities it serves.

The Regional Manager exercises discretion and independent judgment in matters related to regional operations, membership growth, volunteer engagement, community partnerships, staff leadership, and service delivery. This position collaborates with the Regional Vice President on matters impacting regional performance, organizational priorities, stakeholder engagement, and mission outcomes.



Requirements


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Regional Leadership & Performance

  1. Leads implementation of regional plans, goals, and initiatives that support council priorities and mission delivery.
  2. Monitors regional performance related to membership growth, retention, volunteer engagement, program participation, and community partnerships.
  3. Utilizes data and community insights to identify opportunities, address challenges, and improve regional outcomes.
  4. Ensures regional activities align with organizational goals, policies, standards, and strategic priorities.
  5. Collaborates with Regional Vice Presidents and organizational leaders to develop and implement regional plans of work and performance goals.
  6. Shares best practices and recommend improvements that enhance regional effectiveness and mission impact.
  7. Partners with cross-functional departments to support membership, volunteer experience, girl experience, fundraising, product programs, and community engagement initiatives.


Staff Leadership & Development

  1. Provides leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance management for regional staff responsible for recruitment, girl experience, volunteer experience, and community partnerships.
  2. Establishes goals, performance expectations, and accountability measures aligned with organizational priorities.
  3. Fosters collaboration, communication, and teamwork among staff and across departments.
  4. Supports professional development, succession planning, and continuous learning opportunities for staff.
  5. Promotes a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.


Membership, Volunteer & Community Engagement

  1. Supports strategies that promote membership growth, retention, volunteer engagement, and participation in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
  2. Collaborates with regional staff to ensure girls and volunteers receive high-quality support, resources, and experiences.
  3. Identifies and addresses service gaps, barriers to participation, and opportunities for growth.
  4. Supports implementation of volunteer engagement, training, recognition, and retention initiatives.
  5. Ensures consistent delivery of member experiences and customer service throughout the region.
  6. Establishes, cultivates, and maintains relationships with schools, businesses, community organizations, faith-based organizations, and other stakeholders.
  7. Identifies partnership opportunities that supports membership growth, volunteer engagement, girl programming, and community impact.
  8. Collaborates with community leaders and stakeholders to better understand local needs and opportunities.
  9. Represents GSTOP within the region to increase visibility, awareness, and support for the Girl Scout mission.
  10. Attends and participates in council meetings, trainings, community events, and leadership activities as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS -- Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Education, Human Services, Organizational Leadership, Communications, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in membership development, volunteer management, youth development, community engagement, nonprofit operations, or a related field.
  3. Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience, including responsibility for coaching, developing, and managing staff performance.
  4. Commitment to the mission and purpose of Girl Scouting.
  5. Membership in Girl Scout organization.
  6. Must be willing to work with all people without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
  7. Demonstrated success leading teams and achieving measurable goals related to membership growth, volunteer engagement, community partnerships, program participation, or customer experience.
  8. Experience developing and implementing action plans, performance measures, and strategies to achieve organizational objectives.
  9. Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and utilize information to support decision-making and improve outcomes.
  10. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple functions and manage competing priorities in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
  11. Strong understanding of membership growth, volunteer engagement, community outreach, customer service, and relationship management principles.
  12. Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with staff, volunteers, community leaders, schools, businesses, organizations, and other stakeholders.
  13. Experience facilitating collaboration across multiple teams and departments to achieve shared goals.
  14. Strong leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, and team development skills.
  15. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  16. Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  17. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and independent decision-making regarding matters of significance.
  18. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and other applicable technology platforms.
  19. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and travel throughout the assigned region as required.
  20. Have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, acceptable insurance, and reliable transportation.
  21. Must complete and pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check, and drug screening.
