Preventive maintenance activities are scheduled to support equipment performance while minimizing operational disruptions.

Position Summary

Eternity Systems/MTNA, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Industrial Maintenance Technician II for 1st shift at our Rancho Cucamonga facility.

This position requires a skilled technician with advanced electrical troubleshooting capabilities, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex equipment failures in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, dependable self-starter who takes ownership of equipment reliability, identifies potential failures before they impact production, and implements effective, long-term solutions to minimize downtime.

Strong experience with industrial electrical systems, three-phase motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), control circuits, conveyors, and related production equipment is essential.

We are looking for an experienced technician who can contribute immediately, work independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrate sound technical judgment while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including three-phase motors, VFDs, control circuits, sensors, relays, contactors, breakers, and electrical panels.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals to identify faults and perform repairs.
  • Develop basic electrical wiring diagrams for equipment modifications or operational needs as required.
  • Diagnose and repair conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic systems, and other industrial production equipment.
  • Perform electrical component replacements, motor wiring, and electrical panel repairs or modifications in accordance with approved specifications and applicable safety requirements.
  • Identify appropriate electrical replacement components, including equivalent alternatives that meet equipment specifications and safety requirements.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and general mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial forklifts and material-handling equipment as qualified.

Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities according to established schedules and operational priorities.
  • Proactively inspect production equipment to identify wear, potential failures, and maintenance needs before they result in unplanned downtime.
  • Investigate recurring equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Recommend equipment improvements and maintenance solutions to enhance reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Take ownership of assigned repairs from initial diagnosis through repair, testing, and successful return to operation.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing equipment downtime and improving overall equipment performance.

Operational Support & Accountability

  • Provide timely and effective maintenance support during 1st shift production operations.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and prioritize repairs based on safety, equipment criticality, and production requirements.
  • Independently evaluate equipment issues and determine appropriate troubleshooting and repair methods.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations leadership to communicate equipment conditions, repair progress, and anticipated completion times.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including completed repairs, parts used, preventive maintenance activities, and outstanding equipment concerns.
  • Provide technical support and share knowledge with other maintenance technicians as needed.
  • Maintain organized tools, equipment, spare parts, and maintenance work areas.

Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Follow all applicable safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, machine guarding, and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and repairs only when appropriately qualified and in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Identify unsafe equipment conditions, report hazards, and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Participate in maintenance improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, workplace safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate accountability, initiative, and a proactive approach to maintaining safe and reliable production equipment.
Required Experience & Technical Skills
  • Advanced hands-on industrial electrical troubleshooting experience required, with demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical failures.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including three-phase power, AC/DC circuits, voltage, amperage, frequency, and related electrical principles.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting industrial control circuits, motors, VFDs, sensors, relays, contactors, and other electrical components.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, and related industrial production equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to develop basic electrical wiring diagrams for equipment modifications or specific operational needs.
  • Experience identifying, selecting, and replacing electrical components according to equipment specifications and application requirements.
  • Ability to wire industrial motors, interpret motor nameplates, identify compatible VFDs, and determine appropriate electrical conductor sizing.
  • Proficiency in safely using multimeters and other electrical diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify recurring failures and implement effective corrective solutions.
  • Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment failures with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize maintenance activities and make sound technical decisions while following established safety procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with Maintenance and Operations leadership.
