Probation Officer I

• Investigate delinquent and CHINS complaints to determine the appropriate course of action and make recommendations about detention. 
• Prepare social histories, risk assessments, petitions, other court documents and testify in court. 
• Supervise an assigned caseload of juvenile offenders, document the progress of each, and maintain records of cases. 
• Assess the needs of juveniles and their families, make appropriate social service referrals, and monitor and document case progress. 
• Analyze crises and need to make immediate decisions. 
• Work closely with community social service agencies. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field, and 
• One (1) year of experience in case management or working with juveniles; or 
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience. 
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
