Description
Description of the company:
Our client is a respected, design-focused architecture firm in New York City working on post-secondary education projects. It’s a smaller studio where every person matters and you work directly with the founding partners. Licensed architects help shape the work, run projects, and stand in front of clients with the partners when the firm is pursuing new projects. It’s a place where people grow: staff have earned their licenses here and moved into leadership-track roles.
Why is this role open:
A valued licensed architect on the team is moving on after five great years. The firm is looking for someone who can step into a similar role. A strong technical architect who is also comfortable presenting and helping the partners win work.
Responsibilities:
- Lead projects through design, construction documents, and construction administration
- Present design work and represent the firm in client meetings and project interviews alongside the partners
- Help prepare and deliver proposals and pursuit presentations
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction
- Make sure drawing sets are technically sound, code-compliant, and well coordinated
- Build lasting client relationships that lead to repeat work
Must-haves:
- Licensed Architect (NY license, or licensed in another state and able to get NY reciprocity)
- Experience working on higher-education (Universities and Colleges) projects
- Professional degree in architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
- 5-7 years of professional experience
- Strong technical knowledge across the full project lifecycle
- Confident, clear communicator
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience on pursuit teams or project interviews
- Experience in a smaller studio where you’ve worn many hats
- Interest in growing into a senior or leadership role
Work style: Full-time in office, Chelsea
Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 USD
