Credit Controller
6-month Fixed Term Contract | Cambridge | Hub & Hybrid
Bring your credit control expertise. Make an impact that goes further.
At Illumina, every role contributes to something bigger. Our work helps advance scientific discoveries that improve human health, and behind that work are teams ensuring our customers and partners receive the support they need.
We’re looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our Accounts Receivable team in Cambridge on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who knows credit control, enjoys building strong customer relationships and is confident working across customer portals to manage accounts, resolve issues and support timely payment.
The role is hub and hybrid, with the expectation of working from our Cambridge office one day per week, on Thursday, to collaborate with the onsite team.
What you’ll bring
For this opportunity, there are two key requirements:
- Previous credit control / Accounts Receivable experience, including the collection of overdue balances
- Practical experience using customer portals within a credit control environment
You’ll also bring strong relationship-building skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and tight timescales. Experience using SAP would be advantageous, as would additional European language skills.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll support the Accounts Receivable function, helping to keep customer accounts accurate, payments moving and queries resolved. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and maintaining Channel Partner accounts, including account reconciliation
- Collecting outstanding customer balances and supporting payment within agreed terms
- Monitoring customer credit status, credit blocks and credit exposure
- Managing cash application and payment posting across EMEA accounts
- Using customer portals as part of the day-to-day credit control and collection process
- Issuing customer statements, collection correspondence and dunning letters
- Investigating and resolving account queries, discrepancies and disputes
- Working directly with customers to resolve issues and facilitate payment
- Collaborating across Customer Service, Sales and other functions to maintain a positive customer experience
- Supporting internal and external audit requests
- Maintaining accurate customer account records and following established credit and collection processes
You’ll also spend approximately 50% of your working time supporting testing activities for our Next Gen ERP project, giving you the opportunity to contribute to meaningful change alongside your core credit-control responsibilities.
Why Illumina?
The Illumina experience starts with our people: connected, collaborative and united by purpose. We work together because our achievements are shared.
Here, you’ll have the opportunity to own your work while collaborating across teams and building your experience through meaningful challenges. Whatever your role, your contribution is part of something bigger.
If you’re an experienced Credit Controller who understands the end-to-end collections process and is confident navigating customer portals, we’d love to hear from you.
Bring your curiosity and make an impact.
