Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Deterrence in BROOKLYN, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Patrol Officer for a shelter setting. This role involves conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, supporting a welcoming environment for residents and staff, and providing exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of shelter common areas, entrances, exits, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, and document incidents, unusual activity, and patrol findings accurately.
• Maintain a professional presence while supporting a respectful, trauma-informed environment for individuals receiving shelter services.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
