Physiatrist (PM&R Physician) – Outpatient Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation | Saratoga/South Bay, CA
We are partnering with a well-established, multidisciplinary pain management and rehabilitation medical group that has served patients throughout Northern California for more than 30 years to find an experienced or newly trained Physiatrist (PM&R Physician) to join their collaborative care team in the Saratoga/South Bay area. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician with a strong interest in brain injury, pain management, and interdisciplinary rehabilitation to practice in a structured outpatient environment while working alongside a collaborative team of healthcare professionals.
Position Details
- Setting: Outpatient Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation / Pain Management Clinic
- Patient Population: Adults with brain injuries, chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, and work-related injuries
- Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
- Location: Saratoga / South Bay, CA
- Call Schedule: No nights or weekends
- Salary: $240,000 – $400,000/year based on experience
- Experience: Open to experienced physicians and new PM&R graduates
- Workers' Compensation: Experience preferred, but not required
- Start Date: Flexible
About the Role
The Physiatrist will provide comprehensive outpatient PM&R evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management for patients with brain injuries, chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, and work-related injuries.
The primary focus of this position is finding a physician who has a genuine interest in brain injury and pain management and enjoys practicing within a multidisciplinary model of care. The physician will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans focused on improving function, managing pain, and supporting patients throughout their recovery.
This is an opportunity to practice in an outpatient setting with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule and no nights or weekends, while becoming an integral part of a collaborative rehabilitation team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient PM&R evaluations, consultations, diagnosis, and ongoing treatment
- Evaluate and manage patients with brain injuries, chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, and work-related injuries
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on improving function, managing pain, and supporting recovery
- Perform physical examinations and review medical records, diagnostic studies, and clinical history
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate
- Collaborate with other physicians and rehabilitation professionals as part of a multidisciplinary care team
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and care coordination
- Support patients working toward improved function and return to daily activities and work
- Provide recommendations related to functional limitations and return-to-work goals when appropriate
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery expectations
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school — required
- Completion of an accredited PM&R residency program — required
- Current and unrestricted California Medical License — required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation — required
- Strong interest in brain injury and pain management — required
- Ability to work comfortably in an outpatient, multidisciplinary environment — required
- Workers' Compensation experience — preferred, but not required
- Experience treating brain injuries, chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, or work-related injuries — preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- New PM&R graduates and experienced physicians encouraged to apply
